Intereses de Investigación
Carlos Graciano is Full Professor at the Department of Civil Engineering at the Universidad Nacional de Colombia (Medellin Campus). He teaches courses in behavior and design of steel structures, timber structures and mechanics of materials.
His research focuses on the nonlinear analysis of metal structures, integrating computational modeling and experimental testing to propose solutions to structural stability related problems. His research has also contributed to the development of the Eurocode 3 Part 1-5 for the design of steel plated structures. Currently, he is a member of AISC, ASCE, and part of the Editorial Board of Steel & Composite Structures: An International Journal (Technopress).
All his work has been published in international indexed journals and presented at international conferences around the world. In the oil industry, he has participated in projects dealing with computational models of refinery equipment and piping stress analysis.
